Theresa was appointed as HR Director for the UK in November 2011. Her role is to drive forward the people strategy for the UK in pursuit of business results with a focus on attracting, developing and retaining great talent. She leads a team of HR professionals across multiple HR disciplines: Business Partners, Staffing, Development and Compensation and Benefits. Theresa works closely with the UK leadership team and oversees the development of innovative HR initiatives influencing the employee experience to increase satisfaction and motivation, organisation agility and build resilience and energy to grow the business. With a passion for driving our inclusion and diversit agenda forward, Theresa is also the Executive Sponsor of our EMEA Employee Resource Groups for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender employees at Microsoft (GLEAM) and co-Exec Sponsor for Diversity and Inclusion in the UK.
Theresa joined Microsoft in 2005 and has held a variety of roles in HR for the UK subsidiary since that date. She joined Microsoft from the Royal Bank of Scotland and prior to that Cable and Wireless. Over the last 20 years has worked in a variety of sectors within HR including Retail, as well as Finance and Telecoms in the UK, EMEA and Global roles.
Theresa holds an LLB and a post graduate diploma in Psychology and is a chartered member of the CIPD. Theresa is married with a young daughter and lives in Hertfordshire.
