Dr Sara Kayat is a TV Doctor and practicing GP at Balham Park Surgery, which has been featured on Channel 5’s GPs Behind Closed Doors. This experience on Television enabled her to branch out and reach an even wider audience as the resident GP for the weekly “Second Opinion” feature on ITV’s This Morning.
Sara studied medicine at Kings College London where she also achieved a BSc in Physiology. She qualified as a doctor in 2009 and trained to become a General Practitioner, qualifying three years ago, aged 29. Sara is an all-round GP and enjoys writing and advising about the everyday things from snoring, to IBS, to keeping your home a healthy place to be.
Dr Sara Kayat has a keen interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health for which she has a diploma, as well as an interest in surgical specialties like ENT and Orthopaedics having done placements in these specialities during her training. She has brought this interest with her into general practice by having a weekly minor surgery clinic, removing all sorts of lumps and bumps. Furthermore, she practices cosmetic medicine and likes to keep up to date in the world of aesthetics.
Sara has practiced as a GP since 2014 and is one of the founding GPs of GPDQ, the UK’s first doctor-on-demand app, which launched in 2015. She enjoys seeing patients on a private basis, as it balances out the busy environment of the day-to-day surgery.
Sara has recently been filming in Panama for the second series of Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, which is will broadcast in October 2017.
